Services:

Since 1955, Friends Outside has provided support for individuals and families during transition in order to reduce risk and improve well-being, including parenting education, employment prep and search, planning and prioritizing, mentoring, and supporting hope for those who are struggling. Their partners in Mission include Behavioral Health, Community Medical, Probation, the Sheriff's Department, Stockton PD, the Office of Violence Prevention, and many other community based organizations. They help navigate the system, make the right decisions, prioritize needs and access resources and supports when needed. They believe in the capacity for good in all and in second chances.

Eligibility:

Anyone of any age who has had contact with the adult or juvenile justice system, whether or not they have been adjudicated, and their family members. Any neighborhood or community that is struggling with social justice issues and could use some support. Service locations include local and statewide prisons( locally DVI and the California Health Care Facility); San Joaquin County Jail; and all other state prisons in California. They believe in second chances.
